The Recovery Specialist provides alcohol and drug treatment services to youth, ages 13 to 17, who are struggling with substance use issues that are significantly impacting their daily lives, through Sunny Hills Services’ ReStart Programs.   In San Anselmo, this includes both a residential program, minimum 30 days treatment, and a partial-hospitalization program, which will be held after school Tuesday through Friday and Saturday mornings.  The level of care required for the clients is determined at time of referral, utilizing American Society of Addiction Medicine assessment criteria and other pertinent referral information and other assessment tools.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct or assist Intake Coordinator with admission assessments to verify level of care placement needs, utilizing written referral data and in-person interviews
  • Collaborate with youth in promoting the involvement of family, and other informal and formal support team members, in planning and coordinating services for each youth
  • Develop an individualized Treatment Plan for each client, in collaboration with the Clinician, client and family, developing relevant, attainable goals which address impairments related to substance use issues
  • Conduct/co-facilitate psycho-education, process, and multi-family groups to address various topics and issues related to substance use and its impact on client well-being and functioning
  • Provide psychoeducation about substance use issues, focusing on harm reduction, recovery and relapse prevention, utilizing Evidence Based Practices such as Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Manage daily operations of program setting, including assigning chores to clients, meal preparation, schedule management, etc.
  • Meet weekly for case consultation with Clinician and Medical Director to review client progress
  • Responsible for documentation for treatment plans in the TIER system and/or Marin County’s WITS system
  • May also carry out community-based outreach, including communication with schools, medical personnel, employment resources, community presentations and/or speaking engagements to promote services

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a Certification or Registration as an CA Association for Alchohol Drug Educators (CAADE) or California Association of DUI Treatment Program (CADTP) 
  • Fingerprint clearance through Dept. of Social Services Community Care Licensing
  • Valid California driver's license, dependable car and proof of insurance
  • Insurable by SHS' automobile policy
